No side effects or interactions. Avapro reduces my BP from what we can tell but my BP is so anxiety driven it's hard to measure. I can forget to take my BP meds and have a normal reading and also somedays I can take it, be stressed out and still be high. I think your mental state has a lottttt to do with BP. I can say tho it's never gotten too low while on the medication. They started me on 150mg 3 years ago and upped it to 300mg last year. My job became very stressful and my BP readings were higher than usual.

I've taken several BP meds through the years. Most recently I asked my PCP to change me from Atenolol because it is 1st generation Beta Blocker, and there is some research that shows it decreases insulin sensitivity (in other words causes IR). My PCOS was diagnosed after I had taken Atenolol for several years. My weight jumped up and acanthosis nigracans showed up under my arms. My endo said the effect is so slight that it should not make a difference, but I have really noticed a reduction in my hypoglycemic episodes and hunger on Coreg which is a 2nd generation beta blocker and not supposed to cause IR.

So make sure you doctor gives you a BP that is PCOS friendly. BP meds do bring my BP down, but I require larger than the starting dose. I don't think any of them interact with Met, but I know there are some types you can't take with Yaz or Spiro.

Red face met and BP meds

Thanks for all the advice! Mine is very aniexity driven as well... AND last time I got a prety low reading from using a big cuff( arm is 13 inches and we went from 182/100 with reg cuff to 138/80 with large cuff ) so I think that may have contributed to it. I just don't want to add a med if I dont have too and I truly do feel that BP is very much a state of mind at least in part.My Doc also said the Met helps the whole cardio system and there are studies going on to see if it lowers BP and so far it looks good. I know I FEEL calmer on it Anyone know anything about that? Also what about Resperate for BP? Heard great things about that for panic driven BP?
