Question Met change length of cycles AND flow?

Maybe this is a dumb question, but I've been on Met for the 3rd month now and my cycles have gotten shorter. I had a 39 day cycle with 9 days spotting first, then a 33 day cycle with 11 days spotting first, then a 27 day cycle with 3 days spotting first and now a 26 day cycle with 2 days of spotting first. I've been having long irregular cycles for almost 2 years so this is good news. I've never had 2 cycles almost equal. Anyway, all my periods (after the spotting), have been very heavy for for the first few days. I have leaks, change pads often, and have lots of clots. Sorry, tmi. This month, it's day 3 and the whole time I've had light bleeding/spotting that comes and goes. Sometimes it bleeds enough to change the pad but not often. And, there have been virtually no blood "clots" which is unusual. I'm wondering if this is due to the met? Does it slow the flow as well as shorten the cycle? Could this mean the cysts have broken up? I was feeling hopeful since my cycles are getting more regular but this weird af makes me worry that things aren't getting back to normal after all. Any thoughts?? TIA

This is very normal on Met...especially the shortening cycles. Met regulates insulin which in turn effects our other hormones (trestosterone, progesterone etc), so our cycles tend to come a lot closer together. For those of us who were menstruating once every 18 months, this is a good thing.,

My periods took over a year to get anywhere near regular (until after I got my diet all worked out) and they were heavy too. For me, I did have some weird spotting before AF too, but that only happen about every 3rd month or so now. The heavy flow eased up a lot, and my periods are now very regular (28-32 days) and last about 3 days with one heavier day.

I would talk to your Dr if your periods are worrying you at all, and maybe he can order some bloodwork that would shed some light on the situation.

Good luck!
