Default Met and changing lab results

Hello,
I take met and have been for about a year and a half. At first, lab tests showed my hormone levels changed and began to normalize. However, my recent lab results showed a change towards the worse. My doctor recommended that I go on spiro but I do not want to start a new drug unless necessary. I must confess that I do not exercise and only moderately watch my diet. I have made a committment to changing these things but I want to know from others if anyone has had a similar experience. I hope that I can remedy this without more drugs and am really upset by this. I know it is partially my fault for using met as a crutch and depending on it to remedy things without doing any work myself. I also have experienced some hair loss which is scary. I'm hoping that with some serious lifestyle changes I can make things better without more drugs. I would appreciate any feedback about similar experiences with met.
Happy New Year!

I've never experienced a change for the worse with Met. My labs stabilized my levels. I hope you find an answer. Like me I use Met as a crutch, I never really excercise, moderately watch what I eat. So what is happening to you could very well happen to me. Our bodies are a very complex machine, scary sometimes! Good luck with everything!

I wouldn't panic until you've changed your diet for 3 months and then have another set of labs run. My hormones didn't really get into normal ranges until I started eating to control my Insulin and exercising consistently. I will never under-estimate what I put in my mouth again.
