i know about the possible B12 absorption problem, but also know that is sort of rare.
anyone? |

Prior to taking Met, I would lose hair in gobs, although I didn't have any thin or bald patches because my hair is very thick. It has improved emormously for me, but I still lose more hair than the average person.
Hope you have success!

thanks for your reply. i am lucky because i have thick hair, too. but i am losing it quickly. i can't take spiro because it makes me have a period for like two weeks. and my doc wants me to go on bcps, but i hate them and just want to cut out as many pills as i can. met has helped me lose about 15 lbs already and has regulated my periods for about two months. but i am still losing hair and while it is now ok--i am afraid that if i lose much more at this rate i will start getting bald spots, etc.
how long did it take for met to help you with your hair loss? |

My androgen and insulin labs are just now showing normal, so it's possible that thing may improve even more given more time, because My Dr says the hair follicles that we see are 6-9 months old. My Dr says Met doesn't do the trick for everybody, but I have seen an improvement.

I would say it took about 6 months before I began to notice new little hairs growing in. I don't know if my hair will ever be as thick as it was when I was younger, but it does seem to me that the hair loss thing has subsided. It's kind of hard to tell in my case, because I have very long hair, so it always looks like more than it really is! But, I can say that I feel it has gotten better...but it took about 6 months before I noticed a change. The other thing I noticed is that my hair was really dry, like straw, and I had a lot of dandruff...seems met has taken care of that too....

I will agree with KY though, gluc has really helped my dandruff disappear! I had it for years and NOTHING helped - until I started taking the gluc.
When I switched to generic met, my dandruff came back with a vengeance! Now I'm back on gluc and my dandruff is gone! Go figure! |
