Question Met and HcG?????

I was talking to a woman today, and she told me that her gyne suggested her taking metformin and using a HcG trigger shot? I have NEVER heard of this before. Has anyones dr suggested this for TTCing?

Is she being monitered? You should not take an hcg shot to trigger ovulation unless you are 100% sure there is an egg there ready to go. Any time I've used hcg, I've just had an u/s and was given the go ahead by my RE. These were well monitered clomid & inject cycles.

Usually, clomid is the first thing prescribed, and then trigger shots are added if this isn't enough. Definitely monitoring is needed with this. There are plenty of kooks out there, though.

I had two cycles with trigger shots before I started taking Met. Both times my RE waited until I had a follie between 18mm and 23mm. I assumed she didn't give me one after I started Met because she wanted to see if I could O without it.
I'm not sure about this but I don't see why it would be a problem to do both.
Has anyone else out there had both????????
