Default Met and heart disease

After giving birth to my daughter last year I developed postpartum cardiomyopathy and congestive heart faliure. I have recovered to full heart function and I just asked my dr. to put me back on met to help get everything regulated so i can lose more weight. I was just wondering if the heart disease is a problem when it comes to taking this drug. I read on the FAQ of met that it may cause a higher risk of LA is that true and should I talk to my dr. about this. I would rather keep this weight on then develop some other problem. Thanks for your help
