Default met and Increased thirst

Hi all

Am finally on Met...starting at 500mg for a week...upto 1000mg next week and 1500mg in the third.....
am 2 days in to the having it but am facing a funny problem.....i'm feeling so thirsty that i've already gulped down nearly 1 gallon of water at work.....and it's odd...since i usually manage about half a gallon in the entire day at work.....but now i still have 3 hours to go and have already had 1 gallon.....i think i can manage another half gallon in the next 3 hours...the rate at which i'm going... ..is this 'normal'.....my mouth's dry and water helps......but am i turning into a bottomless sponge which can take all the water u pour and yet be dry....it's crazy......plus it's winter and not the time when u r going to be 'naturally' thirsty.....

help!!!

Yep, increased thirst can be a side effect, and it is wise to stay well-hydrated while on Met. I always keep a glass of ice water near me, whether at home, at work, in the car, wherever. Are you having any other side effects? If you get the typical diarrhea when first starting Met, it is especially important to take in more fluids.

Congrats on starting on it!

Editing this to remind you that it is important to take B12 supplements, since Met can interfere with B12 absorption.

Linda
