Default Met and insomnia

I have been on met and spiro for 2 months and since that time I have had frequent insomnia. I have never had insomnia before and this is frustrating to me. Has anyone experienced this with met (or spiro)?

I have noticed more frequent insomnia as well. I never thought to tie to my starting Met ER..but there could be a connection.

I absolutely hate it and seems to happen about 2-3 nts /week. I have had to start taking Xanax on those nights just to fall asleep.

I also have had insomnia and I hate it! I have always been able to sleep with no problem. I knew it was the Met. I also feel like my breathing is messed up at night but I think that is all in my head. I am glad to know other people have insomnia, Has anyone had it and have it go away after you adjust to the Met?

Hi Ladies! Insomnia or restless sleep can stem from low blood sugar, which can happen as the drug starts to make your body more efficient insulin-wise. Try a snack with some carb and protein (cheese and crackers or something) before bed and I bet it will help a lot.

Good luck!
