Default Met and IUD?

So, I have been taking met for about a month and a half now, and I haven't really noticed anything...I started at 500 XR, went to 1000 days later, then 1500 per approval from my dr. The issue I am wondering about is - if I have an IUD, how will I know if I am on the right dose, given I may not get my period even if everything is happening correctly now? I think I'll get blood tests in Oct when I go back to the dr, but is there anyone who has been on Met with an IUD who can speculate? I am tempted to ask to increase to 2000mg, but maybe I should leave well enough alone, since I have no side effects...

Thanks in advance!

Karla
