Default Is met a libido killer?

Did anyone experience a low libido with met? I have been on it for 3 months and yes it had reduced my testosterone by over half - and my skin has improved. But my libido seems to have disappeared along with my pimples. I am also on diane bcp but I've been on diane before (before I knew I had PCOS) and i didn't experience anything different with my libido so i can only assume it's the met??

You could be right, as I have been having some problems too.
Don't think met is helping me at all to be honest. From what I have read here though it can be a great drug for some. Suppose we are all different.
Hope you feel better soon. PCOS can make us feel awful in general so it may not be the met. I have stopped taking met so hope I feel better soon.

I've been on Metformin for about a year and I've noticed that it's dramatically decreased mine.

Personally in addition to a lot of stomach trouble whilst on Met, my libido was absolutely zilch. I found it particularly noticeable once I came off the medication. I suppose its a balance between that and the relief it provides to your PCOS symptoms. Perhaps there's something which could assist the libido in alternative therapies? Metformin is a drug that seems to react very differently with different people's body chemistry though so it might resolve itself after your body acclimatises to it - I would wait and see.

My sex drive on a scale of 1 to 10, used to be a 40. Now that I am on Met, I am at about a 7-8. I feel like a normal person. BUT, it has significantly impacted my libido. Now my dh can keep up

Wow, glad I noticed this thread, was just wondering the same thing a few days ago... I've been on Met (2000mg) for almost 6 weeks now, and also have noticed a huge decrease in my libido as well.... it sucks....

But now I don't feel so alone...

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I was on regular met, 500mg for a while about 2 years ago, and I completely lost my sex drive. Now on met ER 1500mg (triple the dose), and it has lowered my sex drive, but only to the level of a normal person. I want it like twice a week instead of every day. So for me, regular met was more of a problem than met ER.
