Question Met & low Carb diet

Do you have to be on a low carb diet while on Met? My new Dr recently perscribed the met & a strict hypoglycemic diet....but im not diabetic or overweight...and im not one to go against dr orders but i cant afford the low carb diet, so my question is will it hurt me to take the met while eating normal amounts of carbs?

First, I love your nickname. lol. Second, there is no damage to be done if you take Met and eat regular carbs. (been doin it for 3 years) He prolly gave you the diet to help with Insulin Resistance. However, if I were you I would get used to the Met before embarking on the diet because it further upsets the tummy. Good Luck and Welcome to Soul Cysters!!

I have been on Glucophage XR for a little over a month and tried to low carb because I was terrified of the potential diarrhea from too much carbs. I felt TERRIBLE. I finally realized that I wasn't getting enough carbs and that my blood sugar was too low. Now I eat some carbs but try to stay away from too much sugar (cakes, soda, stuff like that ) and crappy carbs (like potato chips). I feel tons better!
