Thumbs up met is my hero!!!

I was just diagnosed last month, and started on met on october 24th. I started AF the same day as I started the met (70+ day cycle)

I O'd on CD16!!!

I had no idea it would work so fast. I was so distraught (yet hopeful) after my diagnosis, and now I am just so relieved that it's working.

Anyway I just wanted to say HI and share my good news with people who would understand (you wouldn't believe the strange looks you get when you proclaim ovulation LOL)

Angry God Bless Gluco but I'm Mad!

I was on Glucophage and it worked! 1000mg a day. But my doc pulled me off saying it wasn't doing anything more for me. My levels were as low as they could go. Why did he do this? My weight stayed down, I was happy! Now I am crept up 5 lbs and am totally freaking out. Must I continue to starve myself on this diabetic diet so that I can be physically on par with the rest of the world>? Help! Has anyone had this problem? I am starting a new doc next month! I am going to beg and plead for her to put me back on it.

I hope your new doc listens!

don't starve yourself, as that will just lead to cravings and cravings will be the downfall of any diet!

make sure to eat until you are satisfied, but eat things that are nutritious and low on the glycemic index.

good luck!!

Jenny: Head to the FAQ thread at the top of the Metformin page and it will give you lots of articles that you can take to your Dr and perhaps persuade him/her. It infuriates me that they think once we drop a few pounds, IR is suddenly cured and take us off the med that helped it improve in the first place. IR can be worsened when we are overweight, but it doesn't miraculously disappear when we lose weight....your Dr needs a good swift kick! I had to fight to find a Dr that would keep me on met for life, so this is a common case of ignorance the medical community has!

Good luck with the new physician and hopefully some of those articles can help.
