I have only been on Met for about 2 1/2 weeks. first week 500mg second week 1000mg. I have noticed that my nails seem to be getting stronger and growing fast, they were so weak before. Is this in my head or could this have something to do with Met.

It’s the Met….neat, huh?
It has happened to me every time I’ve started back on Met and I’ve seen other people on the board mention it before. I’ve never had nails this gorgeous before! I might feel like crap from the side effects but my hands sure are pretty!

Yep, me too. I bit my nails for years, and even when I grew them they always looked pathetic. In the last couple of years they have gotten much stronger and they get long quick. I would tend to think that it isn't the Met, but more likely the regulated body chemicals. But on top of all the other cool things Met has done for me, I'll take it.

Ok I am so in for this one ... started Gluc XR yesterday... and love having my nails look nice after having them done for 10 years and finally being natural the past year ... they gow but are weak... hoping I get this side effect

I think it's the combination of the met regulating all the wacky things going on and a new eating lifestyle. I have noticed too that my nails are much thicker and stronger, and they are growing faster. Yippee...now if my hair would just do that, I'd be a happy camper!!

Oh yeah!
When I was young my nails used to really grow fast and be super strong. Then they started getting weaker and breaking all the time, I figured it was just because I was getting older. Little did I know how stealthy PCOS is! Now my nails are growing fast and are strong again! I love it!
Just as an FYI, when I was switched from brand name gluc to generic met, my nails got all weak and started breaking again. Once I switched back to brand name gluc they started getting stronger and longer again. It's definitley not my imagination! | |

My nails have also become stronger and they grow really fast. Also, since starting Met in January my hair has gotten healthier and longer. My hair use to only grow maybe one inch in a year and since starting Met my hair has grown 2 1/2 inches.
I guess with bad side effects comes some good ones to.
