Default Met and Nausea

I started on Met 2 weeks ago. I'm up to one 500mg at breakfast and one with dinner. I'm trying to take it with a substantial meal, but... especially with the breakfast dose, I'm getting horrible nausea. It lasts all day. Thankfully, I haven't actually been vomitting, just feel constantly like I'm about to. No other GI problems to speak of, so I'm probably pretty lucky. Any suggestions on lessening the vomit-factor? I'm hoping it will subside with time, but I'd like to try to do something in the meantime.

I had horrible nausea also when I first started my metformin. I always made sure I took it with food or milk and nibbled on crackers or bread when I could. After a few weeks, it subsided and I've had wonderful experiences with it since! Good luck to you and hang in there!

I am in the same boat hun! I usually get nausea in the afternoon. I begin to sway and and I get dizzy as well. I began to drink more water today in hopes that it will help. Good luck

I also had that as a side effect when I started taking it. I waited it out and it went away.

Despite many wonderful praises of Yasmin, I had EVERY side effect listed!! It might be that you just gave your system too many new things at once... I try to space out my new additions by a minimum of a couple of days so I can tell what is doing what if possible... just a thought
