Has anyone ever been on Met for the first time and got pg? This, I think, has just happend to us! I was thinking the Met had been making me really ill (I had only been on it about 4weeks) and stopped taking it just before Christmas as I was feeling so rotten. When the sickness never dissipated it was DH who started asking ?'s. Turns out I'm flaming well 7wks pg! Its a bit of a shocker after all the years of heartache and a successful IVF attempt (my little girl's just turned 1). Life can really throw you some curve balls that's for sure.

Wow that's wonderful! I'm always glad to hear about PCOS stories, or any infertility stories, that IVF or something else got you pg and then later, BOOM - it was Metformin alone or just NOTHING AT ALL! Congrats!
I have been taking Metformin since July. I've had one m/c in August and now I'm pg again, due in August I think I realy owe it to the Met for helping me get regular with my hormones. I have been seeing an RE and I am still on 2000mg Metformin to this day, and I'm 7 weeks today. I'm going to probably stay on it for at LEAST the first trimester. You'll find a lot of good advice here and some really helpful information to help you make your decision. My RE said that it's very safe to take during pg.
Good luck!

I started Met in July - AF showed up 2 weeks later (AF had always been very erratic and I had long cycles). In early September I was getting frustrated because I thought Met wasn't working (where WAS AF? why did I have raging PMS?) and found out I was pregnant!
Unfortunately, I lost the baby at 12 weeks. This is my first TTC cycle since the m/c and we are hoping for another "Metformin Miracle"
Wishing you and your little one a happy and healthy pregnancy!
Blessings,
MG

I got pregnant with my daughter two weeks after starting Met 1500 mg a day. I am still nursing her (she is almost 14 months) and am planning to start Met again next week and hopefully start ttc in June. I don't know if it will work because the nursing may be messing up my hormones but we'll see.
