I want to stay on Metformin for all the health benefits, but we do not want to get pregnant right now. Is it OK to go on both at the same time? Is anyone else taking this combo? Thank you in advance for your replies!

Yes!
I am presently on Met and the pill for the second time... I was prescribed these meds before my first pregnancy and after my second pregnancy... I took Mircette the first time (experienced break through bleeding)...then I was prescribed Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo... and won't ever take that bcp again(caused high blood pressure... headaches... )... I have to do some homework on what bcp I will take next time.... good luck.

I'm taking Metformin (1000mg per day) and the BCP. I take Marvelon. It's working great for me, too.

I take met and ortho cyclen... not tricyclen. nothing happens as far as side effects.. just wont have babies obviously
