I don't know if this helps, but I've been under the treatment of an RE since early Jan. and seeing him every 1-2 months (I am ttc).
When I went to him yesterday and still had not had AF after 5 months of met, he gave me progesterone cream to induce it.
I believe I remember a study last year that suggested that a woman should have a period every 3-5 months or so to prevent risks of abnormal cell growth -- the AF flushes things out. It used to be believed you needed to do so monthly, now they find less frequently is just as good. Thus the increased popularity of skipping a period by continuing bc pills w/out the break.
Though I can't imagine having to ward off AF!!!!! (I never get it w/out a boost).
Good luck.

I would try the met for a few months without the provera...the studies show that met will bring on AF in 70 to 95% of women in 3 months or so. Otherwise you won't know if the provera brought on AF or the met.

I never thought I'd ever cycle on my own, so if this drug can do it for me, it can do it for anybody. But ultimately the choice is up to you and your Dr.

Good Luck.

I took Provera before I was ever on Met, and it takes so long to get a period (for me anyway). So you might as well let the Met do it's work. If you give it 3 months, your odds are good that you'll cycle.

Also, remember to try and eat low carb and to exercise...it will being your insulin levels down faster.

Good Luck Melanie! Let us know if you have any other questions or worries.
