Default Met and Questions

K, almost 3 weeks I think since I've started it, and on 1500mg a day.. I take 1000 in the morning with a meal, and the other 500 at supper.. Is this an ok thing to do? My lunch break at the school where I work is so early I feel it pointless to really wait cuz I eat before I leave at 830 and my break is just before 11. I noticed the gas and stuff letting up, I've had some spotting but nothing has really come yet.. Feel kind of tired, had some energy at the beginning and loss of cravings, but this past weekend it feels like its gone back to me being lazy, more tired than normal, putting on the couple pounds i seemed to have lost from not eating.. It's frustrating.. The odd sensation of gas has seemed to pass... I read another post about sugar... I can't seem to get away from sugar in anything and don't notice cramping and diahreha anymore.. Thought that was just the beginning.. Sugars in juices, fruits, etc... Doesn't help I know to have a coke everynow and then but I guess I gotta learn to break some habits eh? Any tips of the trade from any of you guys?

I just wanted to say you need to spread your tablets out. Taking two in the morning won't help. Even if you do take the lunch one early.

For me taking Met with meals is a must. Even if it's just a cup of yogart. I spread my pills out. I try to take 1 with breakfast, 1 with lunch and 1 with dinner. Sometimes I skip breakfast or lunch so I will take it with my nighttime snack. I don't know if it's ok to do that, but I don't have any side effects and Met is working.

The only real advice I can offer is to avoid greasy foods. That seems to trigger diarreah. I have to have sweets occasionally, but in moderation.

With the help of a dietician I learned what I should be eating and learned that complex carbs digest slower.

I lost 2.5 kg (almost 6 lbs) by eating less carbs and meat and more veggies and fresh fruit.

Thanks guys, I'll spread them out then.. I just took my mom's advice from my dad taking it from diabetes meds and her telling me more metabolism burns off in the morning so that'swhy he takes more in the morning. I guess I'll have to start a new habit of one, three times a day! I've been eating better, although I didn't eat really bad before.. I have noticed its acting as a bit of an appetite suppressent.. That or being sick in general with the flu and colds these days has helped with that!
