Just wanting to know if anyone has any experience with Met and one of those saliva ferning ovulation predictor devices?
I haven't ovulated for months but last month Met got me ovulating and then I got AF after months of nothing. This month DH and I are ttc and my body is showing signs of ovulation but this ferning thing is still saying I'm not ovulating (like last month).
Does Met mess around with the reliability of this little device? The device detects the rising oestregen and maybe Met is messing with that???

Hi Suzan, I have tried the saliva device for some months in the past. Never worked for me, never noticed any ferning. Although the patern did change a little when I was ovulating (a little bit more dense pattern compared to just some dots when not ovulating). I used it only once while on Met. That time the pattern looked as a non-ovulating pattern when I really was ovulating. I know I was ovulating because of body signs, also I conceived that day, so ultrasound also confirmed...
This time around I don't use the saliva divice. I did order the (cheap) ovulation predictor teststrips. But best method for me is body signs (twinges left or right ovary couple of days in advance and cervical mucus that is really different for just 1 day).
I was wondering the same. I have one and didn't use it for very long b4 I was diagnosed with PCOS. I didn't see any pattern change either. I doubted it but was desperate to find out when I was ovulating b/c we were ttc. It now sits in the back of the cabinet!!!
I have been on Met since the end of April and got my first "normal" period earlier this month. I bought the fertile focus ovulation microscope to try and detect ovulation. Since my cycles were irregular, the pee test sticks never worked for me. I am excited because today I got my first ferning pattern on the scope! This is the first time since starting ttc that I have been able to detect ovulation.

The OPK never worked for me, I was just put on MET last month, and got my first menses this week! I'm so excited to see if I ovulate in the next two weeks....Keep your fingers crossed! I did however, even though expensive ($27.99 for 7 strips) bought two boxes hoping I will start checking every day to see if there is any sign of ovulation! Let's hope!
