I was (finally!) put on metformin this week, 500mg a day with my largest meal. Problem is, I work some evenings and some afternoons, so my largest meal, dinner, varies by several hours.
Should I take it at the same time every day, provided it's with food, or make sure to take it with a lot of food, or just whenever I eat dinner?
I think it's the best thing to take it daily with meals... but I will say this - I've taken it without - and it ain't pretty At the least - take it with a lot of milk / dairy

I eat different times everyday. My doctor said this was alright just as long as I take it before the meal, for me it's 500mg before every meal (3x). I would say you should be okay taking it at different times.

Met and shift work 
At the least - take it with a lot of milk / dairy
