Alrighty. I went to the doc this week. I told her that I couldn't handle taking medroxyprogesterone (provera) any more to get my period. I'm too tired when taking it and the periods suck (although the second period was much better than the first).
She prescribed 500 mg of Met a day and 25 mg of Spirotactone. I'm supposed to cut the pills in half and only take these half doses and then by the end of first week take the full presribed dose.
I'm already nervous about Met and stomach/digestion problems. To further complicate things she asked me to go on this diet that mostly resembles Atkins.
One one portion of a simple carb each day. I can have any dairy (milk, cheese, yogurt) but it has to be without added sugar. And any meat. BUT ALL my fruits and veggies are to be RAW. She is not worried about portions.
She thinks that I am in a spiral cycle with sugar and carbs - that each time I eat them my insulin stays up too long so: 1). my body hoards all sugar and turns it into fat and 2). I then get hungry because blood sugar goes down and there you have it.
I've eaten as prescribed for two days and I do notice that I don't get the shakes if I go longer than before between meals or snacks.
But this whole raw food thing......and the dairy....all the reading I have done says that Met and these foods result in diaarhea for most people. What in the heck should I be eating to stay in these guidelines and not spend my immidiate life on the toilet? Help!!!!
BTW- I just took my first half pill and I'm already nervous.
