Default Met and Vitamins

I'm back on the Met wagon after going off to pursue a more natural remedy path. It's not having the results I had hoped for - a deeper relationship with the medical provider. I've gone to two different naturopaths (who were both highly recommended to me) and both have had issues with calling me back with test results, chart checks, etc when they said they would call or returning my messages.

Anyways, that a horse of a different color. I want to continue taking my vitamins, but was wondering if anyone knows or has an idea if I should be taking the Met and vitamins separate. Is it ok to take them together?

TIA!

Default Met and women's vitamins

I take Met 3 times a day (with my meals) and take a women's multi-vitamin every day with breakfast. Haven't had any problems with that, and my cycles seem to be "regular" on the Met. Hope this is helpful.

I take Metformin 3x a day, B-Complex 2X a day and Magnesium 3x a day w/o any ill effects. The Nuropath found that the B-Complex and Magnesium helped with the Metformin. I believe there is a sticky at the top of this topic about this.

Good Luck

Hello

can you take the B Vits and Magnesium/Calcium alongside taking the Met tablets - or will they interfere with absorbtion of eachother?

(i'm also on Thyroxine)

thanks

I don't know what your schedule of Met is, but I take mine 2ce a day. One for breakfast the other for dinner. So at lunch I take all my vitamins. I'm sure it doesn't hurt to take them at once, I'm not sure actually. But I take them seperatly from my Met to avoid getting nauseated. My stomach is nausea sensitive real easy. Plus to space them out to give each pill thier chance to work by themselves. If that makes sense...lol...

Hi there...the only thing I would check out is if your vitamins contain guar gum, which interferes with the met. If it does contain guar gum, you should take the vitamins two hours before or two hours after you take the met.

This is a special pain for me, as I take lots of vitamins, ALL with guar gum in them, at all meals. I just started taking met. So now I'm going to have to eat dinner, then eat a mini-dinner with the vitamins or something. Heaven help me when I start taking the met with breakfast!

I'm not sure how badly it interferes with it...it may not be worth all of this trouble. But I want to give my body a chance to work with the met, so I'll do what it takes!

HTH,

Dances
