Hi, I have just ben prescribed met ( now on day 2).

The dr also gave me clomid. I have tried clomid and did not ovulate. That was for 2 months. Prog levels only rose to 4.4

I tried vitex for one month and my levels rose to 15.9 but no af yet although this is day 37. So i do not think I ovulated. No pregnant either.

At least vitex had some effect and I was wondering would it be better to give vitex a go with met or stick with the dr prescription of clomid.

It is there any risk with vitex

The literature I have read on vitex indicated it is fine to take it with Met, but you shouldn't take vitex if you are TTC. Have you asked your Dr?

started glucophage xr 12/18/02
taking 1500 mg as of 12/20/02
5/13/03 actos 15 mg & met 500 mg
5/17 increased met to 1000 mg
6/6 increased met to 1500 mg
6/12 increased actos to 30 mg
7/11 reduced actos to 15 mg due to swelling
reduced met to 1000 mg due to severe diarrhea

rx meds: met & actos

9/5/03 i ovulated for the 2nd time in my life. wow!!!
new cycle 9/21
nettle infusion, almond, brewer's yeast, flax seed, standardized black cohosh

Orla: Vitex & Clomid also counteract each other according to some articles, so if you are still taking clomid, it is not reccommended. It sounds like a natural alternative to the clomid.

I would definetly check out the ladies who have taken it on the alternative remedies forum. All I have is literature on the product, and they have experience with it.
