Question Met vs metRX

Hey guys!
I recently switched docs and my new doc is starting me on 1500 mg regular met, but my old doc had me on 500 mg metXR. Do you know what the difference is between the two? I just wondered about the change...
Thanks in advance for any help.

The XR is extended release meaning you only have to take it once a day. There are some doctors who believe the regular met works better than XR for PCOS maybe that is why the switch.
