Question met and weight loss???

Hello U.K soulcysters
I am 24 and got diagnosed about 8 months ago with P.C.O.S.
I was on Diannette for a few years ,stopped it when wanted to ttc and realised that i wasn't getting periods after stopping pill.
Didn't have a period for 18 months so went for help !!! After a lot of gentle persuasion my Gynae started me on metformin 850mg once a day. I had a period (yipee) after 1 month of being on Met......2 months later and nothing???? Also i read that Met can help weight loss (i have put a stone on in a year) but i ain't lost any weight yet, infact its creeping up !! I was wondering if any of those low carbohydrate diets enhance the met working?? and if so what foods should i eat and what should i avoid?? I am turning to you all for advice !!!
Thanks very much
Andrea xx
