Hi There!
I am on 1250mg/day working my way up to 1500mg. I have lost 20lbs in ~12 weeks on Met. You mentioned that you are following WW, but are you following the Core plan or the other one?

I think a lot of Cysters have better luck with the Core plan, as the lower carb diet seems to help a lot of us lose weight.

My weight loss has been without exercise (I know....bad.), but I have really made a conscious effort to eat low carb.

(Actually, the *real* reason I eat low carb is because it tends to keep the lovely Met side effects at bay. LOL. )

Good Luck and Hang In There!
Amanda

I have noticed that at 1500mg of Met that I lose weight much more easily than before! Good Luck and I hope the weight starts melting off of you!

I think I read somewhere that the affective dose for weightloss was starting at 1,000mg. When I started 1,500 and ate well (yes, met makes you very sick if you don't pay VERY close attention to what you eat and your portions) I lost 6lbs my first week.
Low carb is the best way to go with Met, but you do need some carbs. I get them in the form of whole wheat bread or whole wheat cereal. Plus there is whole wheat pasta which I really perfer over the white.
Good luck with your met and not trying to scare you, but start on your day off so you can gauge the side effects.

i'm on 1800mg per day and i've lost 13 lbs over 16 weeks. a very slow weight loss, but that's fine with me. i've done the fast weight loss thing and it didn't last. i'm trying to modify my eating. however, as per my other post today, i think i'm going to have to rethink my diet further. i'm wondering if carbs are making me feel so dreadful.

I started on 500mg of met in Sept of this year and since then I have lost about 30 pounds. However, I can't get any further. I am starting to wonder if my body adjusted to the met and maybe I need to up it. My dr does not want to up the mg because I am taking this on the "off label" basis meaning, I am borderline diabetic with PCOS. We are basicly trying. Do any of you have any suggestions on how I can lose more weight on the 500mg without taking a higher doseage?

Any suggestions would be great. I still have about 50 - 60 pounds to go.

Have a great night.

Julie
