Question Met and Weight Loss

I was just wondering how many of you had a pretty good weight loss since starting Met. My Dr. stated that I should not be suprised if I begin to loose weight fairly quickly and I just wondered if any of you had any experiance with this.

Thank you!

I don't know if it happened particularly quickly for me. But before I got pregnant with our daughter, I lost about 35-40 pounds in 6 months. I was eating lower carb, and nothing processed, as well as exercising. But I felt like Met. put me on a level playing field for dieting.

I am back on it again now, and am able to lose a pound or so a week. Nothing super fast, but I'm not gaining any more, so that makes me happy.

From what I have experienced, and what I've heard from others, it isn't a magic weight loss pill. We have to combine it with other healthy habits, and then it often helps out.

Hope it works well for you.

the reason it helps us lose weight is because it makes our bodies work more efficiently, so all that work we were doing before with no results now gets results, and it does seem to happen fairly quickly. You also probably won't have much of an appetite for a while, lol. It also teaches you not to eat extra fatty/greasy things because it cause unpleasant side effects!

That really is it---- met levels the playing field for some of us. It makes me feel like I could lose weight like the "average" woman.

I am hoping that once I get my weight down, that I'll be able to control the PCOS symptoms without medication.

I was on regular met last yr and was so sick from it...I quit taking it after about 6 mos. My doc refused to change it to ER so I would take it again. I now take 500mg x 2 day since 12/26, I started excercising 2 wks ago and have lost 8 lbs. I go to the gym x 3 days and walk the treadmill. I havent lost weight in yrs....just gained! Im so excited!

Since starting MET in october I've lost 23 lbs.

I've been eating kind of low carb and very little meat. The biggest thing that I think is helping me is making sure I drink enough water.

And I totally agree with the others... it's like Met puts me on a level playing field. If I eat like crap I gain/don't lose, but if I eat like a should I lose about 2 lbs a week.

BTW... Check out thedailyplate.com if you're looking for a great website to track your eating and weight loss. Good luck!!

7 pounds of mostly water? Yes.

Best to track your weight, however, on the same scale, at the same time of day.
