My Mood: Points: 5,019.56 Bank: 5,579.65 Total Points: 10,599.21 | Met "working" Okay, so here it goes. I've been on met since like October (about 5 months now) and I am confused!! I am not IR but my doc put me one it...which, in the beginning, I was happy about. I was thinking great...here is something to help with AF and stop the new hair and weight. ...and that was so NOT the case. He asked me to stop the birth control pills because he wanted to see if I could start a period "on my own" (--yet w/ met) And knowing my body I figured the hair would pick up pace...and sure enough the hair is back with vengeance! Oh and NO AF since September. I’m starting to feel like CRAP. When ever I go for a long time with out AF I feel bloated and just like crap! As for the weight...well lets just say, in Oct. I was excited because I thought, "Good, I can shed a few lbs before college graduation pictures in April" Well, guess what...I took grad pictures this week and I am heavier than I was in Oct! What the heck is going on? Is met "working?" I really don't know what to think. I am now up to 1,500 XR a day. I don't know what I am waiting for or looking to see. It's like I am rolling down this huge hill and people keep saying here is something that will stop your fall and then right as I get there its nothing but a tiny little twig that I plow over on my way down. I'm not stupid, Im not looking for some "magic" pills to help me loose weight or make me feel amazing. I just had such high hopes for met and NOTHING! If anything things got worse. More hair, more weight and no AF! What I am really trying to say is, HELP!!! Advice? What the heck should I be doing or changing or looking for? Thanks in advance! ...as I reread that I sound like a whining baby...sorry! Thanks for reading and for the advice in advance. I guess I am just having a hard time this week!

Sorry to hear you are having a hard time with it...it's hard to know what to expect, isn't it? Even though I tried to keep my cool about met, I was still secretly hoping I'd spring back to my old shape and have AF every 30 days within a month. lol!
What I would do, and what I've already scheduled with my consultant, is a review date where we sit down and discuss what's been happening, what next steps can be taken, whether my dosage needs to be changed etc.
I am not IR either, so what I am really looking at is my weight and my AF.
I would definately suggest talking it over with your doc - could be something simple like a different dosage?

Thanks for the advice! I called and made a date to go to the doc. He already uped me from 500 to 1500mg (in Nov/Dec) so maybe he will go to 2000? Who knows! I just am sick of this!
Thanks for your kind words! Its always nice to have support when things are not going well!
