Hello everyone, I have a question. I have been taking MET XR for about a month at 500mg, I am suppose to go up to 1000mg. My question is - do I take both pills at the same time? Or do I need to seperate them? I am taking mine right before I go to bed..
You should take Met ER all at one time. It releases slowly into your system. If you take regular Met, you have to space it out during the day.

With Met ER, since it's time released, you aren't suppossed to break it in half. So take it all at once.
I've been on Met ER for almost 2 months and I'm still at 500mg too, and he hasn't said anything to me about increasing my dose. HMM!!

My doctor told me he didnt fully believe that it lasted all day, so he told me to take my Met ER in the morning and at night. I too am taking 1000 mg 1 in am and 1 in pm. I decided I would do like he said, just in case he is right. You might want to too.
