Hello all. I was wondering if anyone else experiences a metallic taste as a side effect of Metformin? I have been on it for 1 month. No weight loss and no stomach issues as far as side effects. I think it has helped with cravings. I seem to get this very strong metallic taste after eating bread. I have been following a low GI diet but occasionally I will have a tortilla and right after I get this awful metallic taste that does not go away for a day. Anyone relate to this?

I got this last night after i had ate dinner.. i drank some water and it tasted disgusting!!!!!!

I get that too. I just chew a lot of gum

I get weird tastes in my mouth off and on. I've read that this is a common side effect. It helped me lose a few pounds, because everything tasted nasty. I've gained them back though, because it has gotten less frequent over time.
