I have been perscribed metformin on many diffrent occasions the first time i was sooo sick with flu like symptoms i stuck it out and it just didnt get any better does anyone have any advice on why? what else i can do?
or has this happened to only me im sooo confused at what to do next or where to go i have also been put on soooo many diffrent birth controls i could start a pharmacy all the birth control does is affect my mood and make me just wanna cry or rip someones face off my hormone levels are normal except my testoterone??

Here is how I was told to take met, it really helps:
week 1: take 1/2 a pill
week 2: take 1 pill
week 3: take 1 1/2 pill (seperatly)
week 4: take 2 pills
and so on, depending on your dosage. You will prob get nausea the first day or so when you up your dose, but it is sooooo much better than the other way. try this.

ttc naturally for the first time
just came off 5 rounds of clomid 50mg, O'ed each time
taking metformin, prenatals, folic acid, prometrium, and baby asprin.

One word of caution, if you've be rx with Extended Release Met, you should not split your pills. Breaking the gel seal on a XR tab is not good. You can split the regular met tabs. It is better to start slowly with your dosage with a plan to build up to over several days if not weeks. It is also better to avoid fatty, greasy, fried, sugary, and rich foods for a while until your body gets used to the Met. Met should help to bring down your androgen levels since it helps to control insulin, which is a master hormone that helps the sex hormone - binding globulin (SHGB) to bind with the testorone, thereby lowering testosterone's effect on your body! I've been on it since July, and rarely ever get an "episode" anymore. Good luck with it, Dianna
