Question metformin

HI, I was diagnosed with PCOS back in Feb. 2003 and they did not do anything until a few days ago and she put me on B/C pills. She says that this will help me to get a regulat cycle until she can get the rst of my blood work back witch should take about a month. So my question is that if my glucose levels come back normal but everything else is still out of normal range will she still be able to put me on the met? She said that she would like to start it in the near future but as I stated before she was waiting for additional blood tests to come back?
When I found out that I had this I was sure that they were wrong and there was no way that I have been dealing with off periods and pains and weird hair for tht last 10 years and now I am still being treated for it. I cannot beleive that something so simple to find took so many years of being treated as if there was nothing wrong. Finally there may be HELP!!!

25 YEARS OLD
DIAGNOSED 3/14/03
MARRIED
2 BEATIFUL BOYS

my glucose levels came back normal (no insulin resistance), and my endo still put me on met. i stopped taking it after the increased dose made me really sick, and i haven't had a chance to go back to the endo since then. iput myself backon bcp for a couple months, but i stopped taking them earlier this month. i'm rambling.

anyway, yes, you can take met even without having glucose/insulin problems. i was on it for about 3 1/2 months before i could stop taking prometrium to induce af. so, whatever it does besides regulate insulin/glucose, it does something to help with other aspects of pcos, somehow.

i still think i'm going to try something else to achieve the same response by my body, due to the sick feeling after dosage increase.
