we have given up trying for a baby, after years of putting our life on hold and focusing on nothing else we now have our lives back and we are happy again.

Hi -

I just wanted to say that I recommenced metformin, having spoken to my doctor first, when my baby was 6 months old. It wasn't dependant on his age, it was once I had stopped breastfeeding. So far, no real side effects but I don't no whether thats just because I don't have time to think about it!!
Initially after having my baby my symptoms of PCOS were reduced then around 5 months they came back with a vengence - weight gain, oily scalp, those lovely mood swings!, and irregular long cycles. Since recommencing my periods have returned albeit still long, I'm just praying for some better weight control - so far it has stopped increasing but I'm still waiting to see the dial go down!

Wishing you well,
Jacq

I just wanted to concur with Jacq's post. I am currently 32 weeks pregnant and stopped taking met at 12 weeks. At my last Endo appt. (15 weeks) he said not to come back until I has finnished breastfeeding at which point he would put me back on the Met.

Hope that helps,

Julia
