Default Metformin + Clomid experience

Any of you experience this? I was on clomid for March 06 & April 06. Produce 1 follie about 19mm, had text book bbt chart that showed I o, but no BFP. So I started on Met for May + the clomid thinking that will push me over the edge to be able to get pregnant. I was suprise to see my BBT chart remained low. Granted my charts weren't all crazy but 38 days into the cycle and still no signs of Oing. So I started Promieturm. I thought the met would have helped, but it seems that it screwed me up from even producing 1 good follie. I am finally up 1500 mg of met. So I have been thinking to stop and only do clomid, but it took me so long to get adjusted to the dosage. Please help!

Something to keep in mind is that the Met doesn't show all of its benefits right away. My doc is having me be on the Met for one month before he will even bother with the Clomid since it needs to be in your system to reach its full potential. If you have just gotten up to your full doseage, that's why it wasn't effective for you.

I wouldnt' give up yet. I'd maybe even give it another cycle to straighten out and then see what happens.

Thanks for your reply. I was thinking the same way too, I was just disappointed that it seemed like it kind of screwed things up when I added the met. I was thinking YES! I finally have regular cycles on clomid and I go an add met and now I had to do promeitruim to induced my cycle.

Babywishes,

My response is more of a comment because hon I don't have any answers for you. (It seems with PCOS there is no straight answer.)
But here's my experience, see how weird this is.
I took Met for a while previously but I never took it consistently so I now say I began Met in Oct 05 because that's when I took it daily.
My Re's plan was for me to take it alone for 3 months and see if it would work alone, after that we would add Clomid to the mix.
Well surprisingly right at the end of the 3 month mark, AF came on its own, I ovulated for the very first time in life. So then we did go ahead and add Clomid (sure in my mind I'm like wow my body is working we add Clomid I'll be preg instantly), well it didn't work out that way. I ovulated again but no BFP and again the following month. We didn't do u/s monitoring so as far as follies and things like that I'm not sure what happened. But my whole point is now nothing. No ovulation, no af, nothing. It's so weird. I just don't get it. Once I began actually ovulating I anticipated being pregnant by now... But again no one can give me a straight answer as to how or why this has happened. (I'll be taking Provera to bring AF on and then begin bcps in hopes that my hormones will _______)

I agree..met isn't instant. It can take months, and I found things never really regulated for me until I started eating to control my blood sugar. That was a HUGE factor for me.

I tried temping when I was trying to get pregnant with my son. I was on 150 mg of clomid and my cycle looked flatline the month I got pregnant. I just found it was not all that reliable for me...Don't know if it was the clomid or what.

*Baby dust for you!*
