Default Is metformin or Diane35 the best for facial hair and other PCOS symptoms?

Has anyone been on both of these and which is better for controlling facial hair and other PCOS symptoms?

I've been on both, and recently switched my Diane 35 to Yasmin. I didn't have much luck with metformin and Diane 35 in relation to reducing and controlling facial hair. Metformin has helped me lose some weight. BCP in general has helped with oily skin/acne. I actually think that Yasmin is having a more positive effect on my facial hair than Diane 35 did.

For me if I could only be on Diane 35 or Metformin I would choose the Metformin. With weight loss most pcos symptoms are reduced.

The only study I've ever seen on this subject is here:

Metformin more effective than Dianette in treating hirsutism:
http://www.endocrine-abstracts.org/e.../ea0005oc7.htm

I have never been on Dianette, but still ended up needing laser to remove the facial hair. It's expensive but worth it. I tried spiro and lowered my hormones to normal level with exercise and diet and I still couldn't stop that aspect without laser.

Hope it helps.
