Default Metformin and diet

I hear that even thin cysters have to change their diet when on metformin. Can anyone fill me in on what changes need to be made and or give me an example of their diet which is working well while on Metformin. Also let me know if you have Diabetes, IR, or just period problems. Thank you so much in advance for the info.

To what degree do you have to watch your carbs? What happens if you eat too many? One of my concerns is that one of my meds cause anorexia, and I tend to need to eat extra to stay a normal weight. One of my concerns is if I have to watch my carbs then it will be harder to maintain my weight.

Default I am on a loose weight/diabetic diet

but even before I started this diet I found certain foods bothered me with the metformin. It was more thru trial and error. But mostly it was like white breads and potatoes I noticed it most.

I'm to keep my meals to 30 grams, and my snacks to 15 grams. Most days I do well. For the first time in years I'm loosing weight. So it seems to be working for me. But that's not your goal. We're suppressing my periods as I have endometriosis and they're a royal nightmare. I'm facing more surgery for that. Then we'll see if my periods have returned to normal.

Good luck.
