I justed picked up my prescrition of Met ER, but havent taken it yet. I'm scared!! Last year i was taking just the regular metformin and i had to stop because it made me feel like i went into a coma everyday when i got come from work.
Does anyone know when is the best time of day to take it?
I think I read that somewhere. I'm switching from regular Met to XR - anybody have any input? Is it going to be an easy adjustment? I'll actually remember to take my pills now (I always forget in the a.m.)!

They're the same thing - Extended Release. I think Met and Glucophage just call them something different? I guess?

i'm not taking th er, just the regular kind so i don't know if they make you feel different.i've been on 1000mg a day for just under 3 weeks. the first week was soooo bad. i was absolutely exhausted. i would come home and fall asleep in the middle of the afternoon. luckily that has really subsided. you might want to take it right after dinner. that way if you get sleepy you can just got to bed early and hopefully you'll be ok in the morning.
my doctor said that it's normal to feel sluggish in the beginning. it tends to resolve itself after a few days.
hope you do better on it this time.
I am on Met ER 1000mg I take both tabs at night before bed. I remember this way... but my bowls are still in termoil, luckily I don't have to go into work until 1pm so I get most of the bathroom time out of my system.
i'm glad taking it with dinner helped. hope you'll be less tired from now on. i can tell you that now that it's my 3rd week on 1000mg i don't feel tired anymore. in fact, most women i know who have taken it say that they eventually have even more energy. so good luck.
