Default Metformin to Gluc SR

I'm swapping my metformin for a slow release glucophage version - is it true it helps with the nasty side effects?

I was living off imodium when I first started taking metformin and my depression / anxiety problems worsen too. I am hoping not to have to endure a repeat episode!

Thanks x
