I am considering going back on Metformin and I was wondering if alot of you had more pronounced hairloss since being on the Medication?
I thought it helped with hair loss but I've read a few comments here that has led me to think that I'm probably wrong about that!
I've been on it twice now but for such short terms that I didn't have time to notice if it affected my hair either way.
What do you all think?
I'm not sure what you've read, but met tends to help in that dept...sure has for me. I have pretty thick hair and tend to lose it fairly quickly anyway, but the rate is MUCH slower than my pre-met days. It took some time but it has definetly helped.
Good luck!

I was on met for 8 months and lost a significant amount of hair during that time, after not shedding & losing 40 pounds on year and a half of successful spiro. Also had terrible acne, fatigue, and weight GAIN. The weight continued to gain and the hair didn't regrow even after stopping met. It just wasn't the drug for me.

Never wrestle with a pig. You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.
Met doesn't seem to effect hair loss one way or the other for me, in that department I needed to up my biest. Since doing that my hair loss is at a natural rate.
I had hairloss before Met, it is how I found out I have PCOS. I have extensions to cover the area that is thin, so I only see my scalp every month when I go for a hair appt. Today was the first time I saw my scalp since starting Met, and there was a large patch where the thinning got worse. I thought that Met was supposed to help with Testosterone, so I assumed it would not make this worse. Does anyone have any insight?
Please note that I also took Clomid for 5 days, maybe it was the Clomid?? I have taken it before, but I did not have any loss.
Any information you have would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
