Default Metformin has taken salad away from me too!!

Ugh...... Sometimes I get so mad at this medication. I can only ask - how the hell did it pass a clinical trial when a side effect is explosive diarrhea. If you can't eat simple carbohydrates, your options drop down to virtually zilch at fast food places. I tried to have a salad rather than indulge in anything fried. And when I do salad I don't even do dressing because I don't like it. So just a simple lettuce and tomato combination, and courtesy of Met it came out the same way it went in less than an hour later....... There has got to be a better way

ok - rant "OVER"

I don't have any problems with any of the kinds of lettuce. I'm just curious which kind of lettuce you used?

I stock up on a few varieties along with other veggies because I have guinea pigs, so salad is always available here. I never buy iceburg because it is very low in nutrients and high in water content. The greener the lettuce is, the higher the nutritional value. Maybe switching kinds will help.

That salad was iceberg. No fast food joint will give you any quality lettuce! When I make my own it's always a spring blend but I haven't had the balls to make one since I started Met... and after how today's went..... don't know if I will be feeling brave enough to try hehhee
