My endo just increased my dosage of Metformin to 2000mg. I had been on 1500mg for 1 month. Experienced some negative side effects at first, but luckily those subsided.
I was hoping for WEIGHTLOSS but that did not happen on 1500mg. I didn't gain any weight which is a good thing.
Has anyone experienced better result with weightloss when their Metformin dosage was increased?
Honestly, I have not been excersing much. Although I've been out a lot this summer. Beach, pool, park, shopping, clubbing....which is a good thing because I am being active.
What have changed are my eating habits. I am really watching my carbs. And after I increased to 2000mg, I have absoluetly NO cravings for sweets. I hope it stays like this FOREVER.
You might want to spend a few days journaling EVERYTHING that you eat, and then tally up the nutritional quantities and the calories. Write down everything that passes your lips.
Also...it's time to invest some time in some cardio and strength training, my friend
(or at least get a pedometer and log 10,000 steps each day)

If your interested in keeping track of calories and such that you eat try fitday.com, it is free and by entering in everything you eat and drink (besides water) it adds up all of your calories, fat, carbs, vits and mins, everything! I am currently only on 500mg met right now, but I was once on 1500mg when I was ttc and only minimally lost weight, very slowely. It will happen as long as you follow through with diet and exercise wouldn't help. Good Luck!
