i hope not to offend anyone with this question. i live in california, i have a prescription, so it is legal for me to smoke it. but ever since metformin (i take 1500mg a day and have no side effects) when smoking marijuana my stomach shortly after begins intense cramping followed with terrible diarrhea. it took me a little while to put two and two together and looking back i realize it has happened everytime without fail. i can no longer smoke it, but now i'm just curious/wondering if anyone else has experienced this. thanks!
I cannot speak from personal experience; but I do have a friend who takes metformin and smokes marijuana without the side effects you are having.
She too was prescribed it for pain management.
I don't smoke it but I take Metformin 1500mgs and sometimes my stomach hurts so bad that I feel like I'm going into labor. Heating pads are the best....I think it's just the Met cause sometimes my stomach hurts and other days I'm fine

I don't smoke it and never have but when I took Metformin I had those side effects! I don't think you have to smoke it to get them. Mine side effects were horrible!!! Diarrhea all of the time and horrible stomach cramps

I take 1000mg of met and I have no side effects. I also smoke but nothing ever bothers me

I get those side effects without smoking the marijuana.
I second this. This only happens to me if I forget to take my pills for a day or two and have to start all over again though. I would talk to my Doctor about it though, just to make sure everything is okay.
