Default Metformin mixed with herbs (vitex) any thoughts?

Hi Everyone,
I have a question or two for you "herbal experts" and proponents out there My RE recently decided that I should start Metformin next month (have to wait 30 days after going of Microgestin BCP's). I asked her about alternative therapies and she recommended I not use ANY of them while on Metformin because she said it is possible they will mess up her test results. I don't want to proceed to Clomid or other fertility drugs if I can approach this naturally and I have read lots of positive stories on this forum. I thought maybe a combination of Vitex and Soy protein isolate with the Metformin would be good. Has anyone mixed these or other supplements with Met? She did "step across the line" and recommend acupuncture for what we know believe is endometriosis pain and it seems to help. The acupuncturist wanted me to take Vitex but I told her it was "against doctor's orders" any advice is appreciated. I am fairly new to all of this since I was only diagnosed this year.

Thanks so much.........>Jewelcats

I've been trying to find out the answer to this, also. I'm going to search and see what I can come up with. Hopefully someone here can help!

I wouldn't take them togeather unless I was TTC. They are both known to help get women pg. I am sure when we start TTC I will take vitex with my met.

I searched threads for past answers to this question. All that I found said it was OK to take vitex with met.
