 Metformin not working for me?
So, I've been on Metformin (1500mg) for about 8 months now. I was having the signs and symptoms of PCOS (she didnt look for cysts, I just have MAJOR symptoms) and so she worked me up to my dose.
My problem is... I don't know if it's working.
I'm only on metformin and just got put back on birth control about 2 months ago due to some heavy (and 16 day long) periods.
~I have terrible front of hair baldness, it's getting so bad that I thought about shaving my head.
~Terrible acne.
~Depression
~Anxiety
~Skin tags
~dark skin around my neck, under armpits, between legs
~weight gain of about 40lbs and it's ALL around the middle. I look like a potato with 2 sticks for legs
~ Some excess hair, not a whole lot, but it's there
The only thing that I have noticed is that my blood sugar is lower...but it wasnt high to begin with. 75-80 in the morning when I wake up, and normal throughout the day! The only reason I have a meter and check it is cause I had gestational diabetes and I don't want to get the full blown.
I had a son with no problem, actually I was on birth control when I got pregnant. I'm not trying to have anymore children for a few years, but I also dont want to damage anything I'm going to need when I DO want more.
So I'm wondering...is there something else I should be on? I mean, for all I read metformin helps excess hair, but thats about it.
I'm so out of touch with this crap.
