Default Metformin, Paxil and more panic attacks...

Anyone out there taking Metformin and Paxil? I just recently started on Metformin and I have been taking Paxil for anxiety for 3-4 years. I feel more anxious lately, especially when I am alone. I don't know if it is because of my increased PCOS symptoms or if the Metformin is causing more anxiety. I'm always worried about the side effects of Metformin, especially lactic acididosis, which I know is really rare. Feel like I'm going crazy again, like when I first starting having the panic attacks. Also feel very hopeless and weapy but I've started ad stopped the Metformin so many times, I really wanted to give it a chance to work this time.

Thanks for ANY help.

Just keep taking the metformin. I take met along with Lexapro 10 mg. I feel the same. Maybe you are just thinking about it too much. Try to distract yourself from your anxiety. Go out and have fun!

I took Paxil before I was on Metformin, and Paxil drove me insane. I hated it. I'm bipolar, though. They spent a while before they got me on a good medication.

Talk to your doctor about it. No matter what thing is wrong, if you feel something is wrong, let them know. Something may not be mixing, and they may either take you off of the Metformin since that's the variant, or change your Paxil...

Default Thanks.

Thanks for each response to my question. It makes me feel less helpless and not so alone. I called my doctor this morning to talk to her about the mood swings. Thanks for all the positive feedback. It really made me feel better this morning.

Paxil works by helping to restore the balance of serotonin - which helps reduce the symptoms of anxiety and depression. Paroxetine can cause side effects that may impair your thinking or reactions. As a result, people with panic disorder experience repeated episodes of intense fear. The FDA as a safe and effective treatment for depression, social anxiety disorder avoid all socially related situations, significantly limiting their life, work and relationships.

I hated Paxil. My doctor switched me to Zoloft and I have found it works much better for me.
