Default Metformin and PCOS

Hello, I have tried and tried to lose weight with very little success. I have been diagnosed with PCOS and was reading some of the treatment and found that Metformin was prescribed to some to help control or reverse the signs and symptoms of PCOS. My question is have you tried it or are using it now? Does it work for you? Thank you for any replies and helpful information you have I am also trying to become pregnant and it's difficult at best. Thank you

I've been on it since June 30th and have lost 20 some off pounds. I won't pretend like it was easy - I had the worst diarrhea for the first 2 months. I didn't have problems with cravings before... but since i started with Met... it's safe to say - I don't get hungry. And I mean ever...... I have to remind myself to eat so I can take my meds!

If it works for you - it's a life saver. I've lost more weight with Met + sporadic exercise ( 3 days a week ) than I lost when I was running 20 - 30 miles a week and eating 1500 calories a day. So I'm hoping it will bring my weight down enough so that I can maintain with exercise and will not need to take Met.

I am so happy I'm on Met. I've lost 35# or so since last August, most of it without really trying. It's also helped tremendously with my acne. My chin used to be covered in those big painful cystic pimples, now I only get minor breakouts, usually when AF is coming.
