I have my 12 week appointment on 8/29/08 and i am extremely nervous because my doctor wants to take my metformin away should I be worried?

there is a difference of opinion on taking met while preggo...with my last ds my Re wanted me to take it but when it went to my OB they told me to stop....did u ask your dr. why he wanted you to take it.....I had GD with my 1st son and boderline carb. restistance my ds #2 whom was bigger than his brother.....

I'm 14 weeks pregnant and there is no talk of taking me off for a long time. I also have type 2 diabetes, so that has something to do with it. More and more studies are coming out that it's just as good as insulin and can actually help to reduce miscarraige rate

i Have stopped taking mine since I got my Bfp but I am starting it again....at least 1000 mgs....I am boderline type2 and have a history of GD while preggo. beside its a category B which means its safe...to use bY the FDA

My family doctor took me off when i was 8 weeks then he wanted to put me back on but my ob told me to just stay off of it

I stopped taking Metformin once I got pregnant and have a healthy and happy 9 month old son. Everyone is different so dont stress about it. I have heard of people doing it both ways and everyone turned out just fine!

I have decided to stay on Met throughout my pg with the blessing of my RE and OB. If you are IR it greatly reduces the risk of GD.

This is bad but they told me to get off at twelve weeks too but I am still taking a half dose (I had some extra bottles because I get 3 month doses at once and I had refills) whether they like it or not until I run out. I got off @12 weeks with my first child and gained a TON of weight. I really think that had something to do with getting off met but that could just be me.
