Hi Girls---Just found out a week ago that I am pregnant! YAY!!!!!!!!
I suffered a M/C in July and just had a question about Metformin and pregnancy. My doctor has advised me to stay on it at least through the first trimester. I am just a little nervous because I take 2000mg. I don't have a chance to call her until tomorrow with today being labor day. I am just concerned about taking such a high dose now. I would prefer to cut back at least to 1000mg. Has anyone else taken Metformin during their pregnancies? How did it go?

I took 2000mg of Met the first 12 weeks of preg. with my son. My RE was certain that I would miscarry if I didn't. I also used prog. supp. the first 12 weeks. My boy is 5 yrs now. :-)

Thanks!!! That puts my mind a little more at ease! I am just trying to be as cautious as possible. I would be devastated to lose another one!

My RE also wants me to take mine during pg. I assume he'll tell me when to stop, but I'm good with it until then--anything to decrease my already high chance of miscarriage!!!

Congrats on the BFP H&H 9MONTHS !!
my Re told me to stop which i did for a few days but when i went to my ob he said to continue through the 1st trimester...my Re put me on crinone suppostories for my progestrone but ob said though it was low it was low normal and he wasnt worried about it..but I still take the suppostories from my Re
