I was diagnosed with PCOS in the end of October. I started Met in November and was upped to 2000mg per day from 1500mg as of 2/1. 1500 did great for relieving some of my symptoms - I lost weight, stopped breaking out, etc but did not help me to ovulate. I had no period from Oct-Jan. Doc put me on Provera for the first 5 days of every month to make me bleed in addition to upping my Met. Anyone else use this on a regular basis? I'll be using the Provera monthly till my next appt in May.

He said it's possible that I could start to ovulate on my own but how will I know if I'm still taking the Provera every month?

Anyone who had trouble having periods even on the Met I'd love to hear what worked for you.

i only took provera to induce periods while i was on clomid and ttc ... but i don't see why you have to take it every month? (unless you are ttc) ... getting a period every 3 months or so should be fine .. that way you could see if you O on your own inbetween ....
