Question Metformin & Prozac?

Does anyone take Prozac and Metformin? If so, how is it going? I have PCOS and have recently started having anxiety attacks. I'm currently taking Prozac (it's only been about a month) and I'm supposed to start taking Metformin (1000mg per day) tomorrow.

I take Wellbutrin and Xanex for anxiety attacks along with my Met (1500 mg), and I haven't had any problems with that combination. Hope everything goes good for you!!

Christine, I used to take Prozac along with Met and I had no problems with the combination. It took about 4 weeks for it to take full effect, but it was a great help. Prozac stopped working for me after about a year. Talk to your doctor if you feel yourself slipping back. Over the years I have been on Prozac, Effexor, Celexa and Wellbutrin. I am currently off of the anti-depressants and doing fine.

Good luck and remember to ask for help if you feel it stops working for you.

I take Glumetza (like metformin ER) and Prozac, I feel fine. I haven't been taking the Prozac very long only about 2 1/2 wks... I can't wait for it to really kick in.

I also take Prozac and Metformin and have never had a problem. I have been on various anti-depressant/anxiety meds and haven't had a problem with any of them reacting to Met.

I've been on the Met for 6 days now, and so far, no problems with the Prozac. I must say, this Metformin is great. I used to be hungry ALL of the time, but now I'm really starting to get my appetite under control. Thanks for the responses ladies!
